New Cover! Exposed to You!
Tuesday, March 6th, 2012

Good news! I have the new cover for EXPOSED TO YOU, the second novel in the One Night of Passion series under the pen name Bethany Kane!

This is Everett’s story. I went into major “FACE OFF” mode for it, since the heroine is a special effects make-up artist. What do you think?

EXPOSED TO YOU–Book 2 in the One Night of Passion series

Losing control is just the beginning…

“What would you do if the sexiest man in the world was bent on bringing you unbearable pleasure again and again? Joy Hightower wasn’t sure she could survive the experience…or live without it.”

It’s not often you’re hired to paint a body tattoo—and what a body—on a total stranger at a Hollywood film set. A reserved and careful art teacher, Joy would never forget it. In a rare fit of raw desire she gave herself completely, knowing she’d never see him again, or ever repeat such a shameless, naked impulse.

Little did she know, the man with whom she shared that lightning bolt of lust was star Everett Hughes. For Everett, women and sex came as easily as fame. But how could he hope to convince the guarded Joy that beneath the hard body and sexy façade of celebrity was a real man who wanted only one, real woman?

In the heat of an intoxicating affair, Everett endeavors to break down her barriers, gain her trust, and expose himself as the real deal. But can Joy do the same, and reveal to him the vulnerable woman who longs to be loved, wanted, and desired forever?

Grade A Review for Claiming Colleen and a book giveaway!
Tuesday, February 21st, 2012

Hi all! The paperback version of Claiming Colleen, the third book in the Home to Harbor Town series comes out today! Look for it at your local store or supermarket!

Check out this Grade A review of Claiming Colleen at The Good, The Bad, and the Unread!

Beth Kery has kept all the characters in this series strong as always and very active in the storyline in Book 3 of Home to Harbor Town. For a family that is so torn apart, they really stick together. This story is as well written as the other two, and I am looking forward to Book 4… (the rest here)

Also, I blogged at the Good, the Bad and the Unread about Love and Tragedy, and the Home to Harbor Town series. Leave a comment to qualify to win your choice of two Home to Harbor Town signed books, including Claiming Colleen.

Have a great week!

Is there a time limit on falling in love?
Sunday, February 5th, 2012

I pondered that question as I finished up EXPOSED TO YOU, the next novel in the One Night of Passion series (writing as Bethany Kane) coming out in November of this year.

My hero, Everett Hughes, is one of the most brilliant of the superstars in Hollywood. He can have any woman he wants, but despite this, he feels he’s been cursed in the ‘love’ department. Family and friends mean everything to him. Because of an extremely stable, loving upbringing, he’s escaped the pitfalls that can come with the double-edge sword of fame. But part of him thinks he’s been too blessed. Perhaps fate plans to rob him of the one thing that’s even more important to him than his career–a woman and a family to call his own.

When he sees Joy Hightower, he falls almost immediately for her. He also worries that things won’t work out–because how can it be possible to win some kind of colossal cosmic lottery as far as his career and wealth, and ALSO be blessed with the perfect woman? And Joy has her own demons she needs to fight before he can convince her that’s he’s the real deal, not just the one-dimensional figure on a movie screen.

As I was writing the book, I sort of struggled with the issue of how fast Everett fell. However, I do think that’s just how it happens sometimes. Whether I believe in love at first sight, I don’t know precisely. I can tell you I fell pretty darn fast–and hard–for my husband. Seventeen years later, I can safely say that instinct was absolutely correct.

Does it ever bother you when you read a romance novel when someone professes their love after knowing the person say…a couple weeks? Aside from romance novels, do you think it happens in real life that people fall that hard and fast, and it turns out not to be an infatuation, but the sweet real deal?

News and Books on Sale!
Tuesday, January 17th, 2012

Happy New Year, everyone!

I know, you might have thought I fell off the face of the earth, but here I am. In fact, I have a lot of deadlines up through April, and I’m really having to do what we authors do–write. 🙂 I’m currently crafting away on the second book in the One Night of Passion series–Everett’s story, along with two short novels in the same series to be released as Berkley Especials. Look for the first of those–Bound to You–late spring or early summer, the other this fall, and Everett’s story (as yet unnamed) this November.

In other news, Claiming Colleen–the third book in the Home to Harbor Town series, is out at the end of next month (technically March 1, but it will hit stores earlier). I just got my box of author books for CC, and I’m so excited! I hope you’ll check out Colleen’s and Eric’s story. Here’s the books in the box–always fun for an author to get these.

I have been noticing that several of my books are on sale, and I want to pass on good prices to readers.

Thursday, December 15th, 2011

Hi all,

I wanted to share my cover for the newest book in the Home to Harbor Town series, Claiming Colleen!

CLAIMING COLLEEN

FROM FORBIDDEN CRUSH…TO FOREVER LOVE?

In high school, small-town princess Colleen Kavanaugh had had it all, and Eric Reyes was the outsider with his nose pressed against the glass. Then a sudden change in circumstance led to a reversal of fortune. Now Eric was a wealthy, successful, arrogant surgeon who rubbed the onetime golden girl the wrong way.

When an ironic twist of fate forced Eric and Colleen back together, the single mom found herself drawn to the irresistible doctor despite their dark history. Sure, she’d felt something for Eric when they were teenagers, but those memories were long forgotten—or so she thought. It wasn’t long before he wooed her into his arms…and his bed. But could their newfound passion lead to the happily-ever-after of their dreams?

The Naughty and Nice Book Signing and a Big Giveaway!
Monday, December 12th, 2011

So you made it to the Naughty and Nice Book Signing at Rose’s Bookhouse in the St. Louis area…or…you didn’t? Well, no worries. There’s going to be another next year! I can’t wait. This was a very high energy, fun event taking place at a cozy book store–the kind of place where you could spend a few hours drinking a coffee and browsing the shelves.

On the night of the bruhaha, however, it was all about wine, appetizers, friendly (rowdy) women, and oh…even a male model from Kim Killion’s graphic design company, Hot Damn! Myself, Shayla Black, Kim Killion and Annmarie McKenna all signed books.

It was a sexy, book lover’s event sponsored by hospitable Wendy Drew, of Rose’s Bookhouse. Wendy took the time and care to make sure everyone present had a great party in the best setting ever–a book store! All attendees got a goody bag, raffle tickets for adult (trust me, very adult) door prizes, and a lot of good conversation about books and…stuff that women are known to talk about at a function like this. 😉

Photo: Myself along with four terrific ladies who drove or flew a long way to this event. Thanks ladies. It was so great seeing you there!

So, at the end of this week, I’m going to give away one copy of a signed book from each of the Naughty and Nice authors–Annmarie McKenna’s Blackmailed, Shayla Black’s latest, Belong to Me, Kim Killion’s, Her One Desire and my own (Bethany Kane’s One Night of Passion book) Addicted to You! I got them just for you people who couldn’t make the event–I hate leaving people out!

Just leave a comment to qualify for all four signed books–would you ever go to an author book signing or reader conference? Have you been? What was it like? If you’ve never been, would you go, given the opportunity?

Naughty and Nice Book Signing
Tuesday, November 29th, 2011

Just a reminder that I’ll be signing books along with authors Shayla Black, Kim Killion and Anna Marie McKenna this Saturday, December 3, from 7-10 pm at Rose’s Bookhouse in the St. Louis area. Tickets for this fun-filled, Ladies Night Out event were going fast, so if you’re interested, the details can be found here!
