Happy Monday! First off, I’m sad to say that last week’s book–Moonlight and Mistletoe–was not claimed by the winner. As a result, this week, one lucky commenter will win BOTH Moonlight and Mistletoe and Dirty. (Now that’s an interesting combination of books, and even more interesting when you consider they both come from Harlequin lines)!! Remember, all you have to do is comment on my blog at least once this week, one entry per person, although you can comment as often as you like. The winner will be announced on Friday afternoon. To claim your prize, you need to write me at bethkery@aol.com over the weekend, or the book will roll over to the following week.
Next up–I finally got my cover for Holiday Bound!! Yee Haw! It comes out in two weeks from Samhain Publishing. If you’d like to know more, check out the link to the excerpt. So…what do you think?

That’s a pretty cover! And, dammit, how come I can’t look like that in a garter and stockings! Marking the calendar. But of course, there’s really no need, since I spend a fortune every week on Samhain releases. Damn them.

You know,
I must admit it’s awesome to see when Authors create Heroines that come in a variety of sizes, shapes & shades.
I have to say though I’m eating it up when a Hero is totally GA Ga over Heroine with meat on their bones. For me the main focus is what a turn on it is to read out Hero totally diggin’ on a Heroine with real body for example Serena Williams, not matter how much see try to lose wait that butt NOt going any place either are her breast.
I simply think a Heroine as well as a woman should be worship some much in a read for herself until I’m feelin’ inside out..((giggle))myself…Big butt..little butt..nooo..butt at alll..heeeheee! 😛

Oh, that cover for Hoiday Bound is sizzling!
Do you tell the artists/photographers/whoever what type of cover you want or do you give them an idea and they create the covers?
Thanks,
Tracey D
November 18th, 2009 at 7:51 am · Link
Tracey D,
It depends on the publisher how the cover process goes. Typically, authors have very limited input. At Samhain, we fill out a pretty detailed ‘cover sheet’ that includes a portion where we can point out ‘similar covers’ to what we have in mind, give character description, etc. At Berkley, I just give my editor a few lines on what I’m envisioning. In the end, authors typically have to put their trust in the art departments, though, because…well, we’re no artists, or at least I’m not.
