Emma Shore, the unconventional heroine of the book is a hospice nurse, but she’s unique in another way: she’s looked death in the face personally. Michael calls her fey. On the surface, Michael Montand looks like he has it all: fabulous good looks, mansions in countries across the globe, two multi-billion dollar car companies. In reality, he considers himself cursed by the constant shadow of loss. He can’t resist Emma, even though he knows something so fresh and lovely could never be for someone so jaded and weary like him. He drowns her in luxuries she’s never known, and teaches her the power of sensuality and submission to desire. She gives him new hope, and helps him find the strength to live again. If destiny can give him Emma, than Montand realizes he must not be cursed; he’s blessed after all.

I truly believe that love can transform an individual and give them new eyes with which to see the world. That’s why I found The Affair so beautiful and special, and I think you will too.

The Affair is a serial novel, told in regular episodic installments every Tuesday, beginning September 16th, 2014. The reader follows the couple during the first eight weeks of their affair in real time. Despite what many people may believe, a serial is not one book randomly broken up into parts. After writing three serials, I can tell you, it’s not easy. There’s an art to it, akin to writing television screenplays. Listening to my readers following Because You Are Mine and When I’m With You (two previous serial novels I’ve written) I made The Affair heftier in content, almost doubling the size. By the time the book is finished, readers will have the equivalent of two normal sized books in the eight weeks, a hopefully extremely satisfactory amount of story in a short period of time.

So this fall, fall in love along with Emma and Michael in real time during the first eight weeks of their tumultuous, sexy, heartbreaking, and ultimately beautiful affair.

Anyone who knows me is probably all too aware that I’m bursting with excitement about my upcoming serial novel, THE AFFAIR. This is a supersexy, angsty, sensually indulgent and extremely romantic love story between a brooding billionaire and a hospice nurse. Sound familiar? Well it’s not. As a trained clinical psychologist, I take characterization very seriously, and Montand and Emma are two of my favorite characters to date.
