The Hometown Hero Returns Contest, A Free eReader
Tuesday, March 15th, 2011

The Home to Harbor Town series debuts on March 22, so we’re going to celebrate! I was excited to see that The Hometown Hero Returns will be selling for 3.99 in ebook (4.99 for print). On March 29, I’ll be giving away an eReader to one person who throws their hat or wig into the ring. Here’s the fun thing: you get to make the choice of eReader, as long as it retails for 150 dollars or less!

Here’s how you enter. Since The Hometown Hero Returns takes place in a quaint, lakeside vacation community, leave a comment here and tell me about your favorite vacation memory or a family vacation hotspot.

IN ADDITION, to enter you must do one of the following:

1. Sign up for my newsletter on the homepage of my website

2. Follow me on twitter

3. Follow me on Facebook

4. Join the Total Exposure yahoo chat group

***If you have difficulty with any of the links, the information is also all on the CONTACT page of this website

*** If you already participate in one of the above, just let me know in your comment, and you will be entered.
So a valid entry might be: My favorite family vacation hotspot is Lake of the Ozarks. I already belong to your total exposure chat group OR I just followed you on twitter, etc. Once I draw a winner on March 29, I will check and see that the requirement is fulfilled. If it isn’t, I will choose another winner until a valid one is found.

I will contact the randomly chosen, valid commenter and announce the winner here on March 29.

That’s it. Now, a bit about the reason for the celebration, The Hometown Hero Returns.

The Hometown Hero Returns

At eighteen, Marianna Itani thought she’d found the man of her dreams in Marc Kavanaugh, the quintessential boy-next-door. That perfect romance flew to pieces when an unspeakable tragedy tore them apart. Yet when Marc appeared in her life fifteen years later, the sparks that flew were as explosive as the day they first met.

Now their reignited passion was changing their lives in more ways than one: Mari was pregnant! She was set on putting the pain of the past behind her—not reopening scars that had never truly healed. And their baby might bring these star-crossed lovers back together—forever!

I was thinking this one came out earlier and looked for it at 3 different bookstores this weekend. I was jumping the gun.

As for my favorite vacation place…that’s hard. We didn’t really do a lot of traveling when I was a child because my father worked out of town and so when he was “off” work, he didn’t want to travel. But I loved going to Opryland in Nashville the times we did. And, of course Gatlinburg is always fun and it’s close.

I know I don’t need to remind you but I’m a member of Total Exposure. *grin*

Congrats on next week’s release! I know it’s going to be a hit!!

I would have to say my favorite family vacation spot so far was yellowstone national park. There was so much to look at and take in that it was just amazing. Even if some spot smelled a little bad ;).

My favorite is Lincoln City. The beach is fun and one can stay in a an apt with a fireplace and kitchenette. You can hike and play all day, go out to dinner or buy some fun groceries to cook and eat in, have a warm fire and watch the ocean. Coffee, dessert and a tipple in this setting with your beloved feels luxurious in this setting.

My favorite vacations was when we went with the neighbors and their family to Myrtle Beach. There was at least 6 or 7 cars and we all followed each other down there. We had a blast. Loved the ocean! We went to the amusement park there daily. Went to the mall. We did all kinds of things. Went to miniature golf. It was just so beautiful there and had tons of fun. I want to go back again.

Since all the children and almost all the grandchildren are grown and we have gotten older, we don’t do too much vacationing like we use to. Hubby and I like to go to a few of the casinos, check out the shops, go to the buffets, during a long weekend and just relax.

My favorite spot was Lake Monore in Indiana, my mom and dad worked 60 hours a week so for us to get away we couldnt go far and Lake Monore is awesome, I just rememeber driving and listening to musice on the radio and swimming in the lake and eating hot dogs, to be young and not have to worry about a thing whiole mom and dad took care of everything, was awesome. Now being a wife and mother I try to make memories and realize that be young or old, still make memories, and enjoy life, you only get one.

We didn’t have to go anywhere for vacation. We live on an island in Texas surrounded by beach & bays! We can beach it, fish it, or just simply island life it any time we wish. We did, however, go to visit my mom’s family in Indiana and I remember walking the train tracks, being able to walk through the little town square. I remember when it snowed thinking it was the perfect little town! I’m a Twitter follower….@Bakin_Goddess

One of my favorite vacation spots is Sheridan, Wyoming. My sister moved there 25 years ago and we would visit every other year. Just driving there was an adventure. From the Corn Place and the Black Hills, to Mount Rushmore and Wall Drugs. There was something for all. Then when we got to Sheridan we would enjoy the beauty that surrounded us in the home of Buffalo Bill Cody. There were mountains to explore, snow in July, and historic battlefield. History all over. I still love going to visit.

    Howdy Beth!

Congrats again on the upcoming release!

As a kid, we’d travel the six hours from Nevada to Phoenix, AZ, to spend the summer with our grandparents. And while there’s nothing snazzy about Phx, it’s a wonderful town and it was full of family, so it was always fun. My best friend still lives out that way.

As an adult, we’ve taken to going to a teeny town in Utah for weekend fishing trips with the girls. My prima donna 11-year-old will even bait her own hooks. LOL Life doesn’t get any better than that.

Anyway, as your personal internet stalker, I’m a friend on FB, follow on Twitter and, along with Robin up above, am one of the original Exposees. LOL

    Again, congrats and mucho success!!

I live in my favorite vacation place, the Los Angeles South Bay. We went to Wyoming for a vacation and moved there for 6 years, it was incredibly beautiful, and I lived in Uniontown, Ohio for 8 years of my childhood, also incredible, I’ve seen a good part of the U.S., but to tell you the truth, this is where I want to be. My husband has a 3 day weekend every other week, and often we take “at home” vacations, pretend our home is a hotel, go to the beach, a museum, eat out, see a show or concert, without ever leaving. I feel lucky to live in my ideal vacation place…..

I have a favourite vacation memory and favourite place. Favourite place is probably my parents Beach Cottage at Cobb Island on the Potomac River, where we can go to get away from it all, just rest, watch all the birds on the beach and boats in the water, and spend a lot of time reading. The favourite vacation was last year, when my parents took my brothers and me on a cruise with them to celebrate their 50th Wedding Aniversary. Great time.

Of course, almost any vacation is great, and I love to travel. Ranks right up there with my other favourite activities: Reading and Crafting. Love when I can combine them all.

Our best family vacations were the camping trips on a lake shore or along one of the rivers that fed the lake. And we were only about an hour from Mt. Rainer. Great fun for several days, fishing, swimming, cooking out, kids loved sleeping in tents. Best thing was, it was one of those vacations that you don’t hate coming home from(at least for everybody else since I had to do all the laundry).

While this was a vacation for the most part is was also a necessity as my youngest brother had a heart problem and went to the heart specialist there every year. Still we had fun and most my vacation memories revolve around this town and time.

Wow Beth, you know how to celebrate! Congrats on the upcoming release of THHR.

    I have 2 faves places:
When I was a kid, my dad took us to visit his cousin in Pennsylvania (just outside of Pittsburgh) every summer. We loved the drive. It’s so beautiful with it’s winding roads & lush trees. I remember thinking it was so cool that the houses were apart enough that the mailman delivered by car LOL.

After I met hubby and moved to where he lived, I discovered Sandbanks Provincial Park (about 2 hours east of Toronto). It’s got white sandy beaches, clear water & shallow for so many feet out.

    I’ve got # 1, 3 & 4 covered.

We didn’t take a whole lot of vacations when I was a kid. Typically when my parents had time off we would do things like go to the zoo or an amusement park. However a few times we visited my mom’s family who live in Jasper, TX. So I would say my favorite vacation spot was Jasper, TX. The reason I say was is because about 5 years ago we moved down to Jasper. So now I get to see my mom’s side of the family a lot more!! I sent you a friend’s request on facebook! Hopefully that’s what you meant by following you on facebook. Good Luck everyone! 😉
