Hi Beth, I posted the sprout widget on the main page (left sidebar) of my blog at http://allisonsreads.blogspot.com/ – as for where I would time travel to, the first that comes to mind is the world of Jane Austen. I have so many fav stories/made-into movies of Austen’s work. I would just love to experience it first hand (but not forever, right? I would miss the people around me now π

Hello, I told my husband about it and a friend at work because I love time travel stories. If I could go back in time, I would go back to the time of my birth so I could meet my parents and see them as people not just my parents. They have both passed on and this would give me insight into who they really were. I would also like to travel back to the time of Jesus and meet him, what was he really like in person that type of thing. Sorry about not posting link but am somewhat tech challenged.

I think I would want to travel to Regency England to experience a ball first hand. I have read about so many of them, I think it would be fun. I would also like to ride in a carriage and see the clothing and hairstyles in person.

You’re right, Lori Ann, it would be so interesting to see first hand how people actually looked in times of old! Are you a Regency Romance fan, by chance?
The widgit looks terrific. Nice blog. π

Gloria,
Great answers, there! You don’t have to post the link. You could just tell a friend about the book and contest, and then tell us about it to spread the word. I included that rule because I’m very tech challenged as well.

Allison,
As a P & P fan, I agree that would be an awesome time period to see. When I visited Bath, England awhile back, I kind of felt like I’d been transported back. Put everyone in costume, and it’d be eerily the same. Have you ever seen the BBC version of Persuasion? If you have, you know what I mean.
Thanks for participating!

Hey Beth,
I forgot about the time travel part. I would want to go back to the time of the Civil War or the expansion of the Wild West. I love the times of Jesse James, Wyatt Earp, etc. I’d like to see what the old saloons were all about. Call me a bad girl at heart. Have a great day.

Great post about your contest. Although I am technically challenged as well, all I can do is tell my 5 daughters who will tell 5 friends etc etc. π Anyway, as far as Time Travel I’d also love to go back to those beautiful Alpha Highlanders who loved to bathe and wear clean kilts. lol
Good luck to everyone and great success Beth on your book.

I would LOVE to visit ancient Egypt during the reign of Akhnaten and Tutenkhamen; I have a “thing” for that period. I actually have two times I’d like to visit, the second is a little stranger; I’d like to go to London in 1888 and find out who Jack the Ripper REALLY was!! (Yeah, I’m certifiable, LOL)

Hi Beth,
Unfortunately, I don’t have a blog or a facebook account, I guess I’m too busy with the kiddies, and entering contests! I told several of my friends all about your books and this contest. I hope that’s sufficient.
As far as time travel, I lost my grandmother when I was 17. She practically raised me and her death is still the most painful event in my life thus far. I would love to go back in time to 1984, and spend time with her again. That would mean the world to me.
Thanks for the contest Beth! π

Tracy,
That sounds like a wonderful time travel wish.
Yep, that’s a way to enter the contest. The whole point is to spread the word, and gabbing about the book and contest with friends is one way to do that!
Thanks, Tracy!

Beverly,
Yeah–that time travel conundrum–if you go, maybe you can change something for the better, but what if other things are worse. Maybe it’s the cosmos’ way of saying–deal with what you have.
Thanks for your entery, Beverly!

I would love to go to late 19th century Victorian England. Love the dress, art, books and the atomosphere.
April 14th, 2009 at 6:50 am · Link
Thanks, Katie.
Victorian England would probably be my choice as well. Late Victorian or early Edwardian, actually. I’ve had to research the dress quite a bit for several books I’ve written. I love to look at these Harper’s Bazaar books I bought that contain all the undergarments, dresses and nightclothes from that time period. π
April 15th, 2009 at 12:47 am · Link
At this point in time I don’t know if I would want to do any time travel at all.
While I love reading historical and futuristic stories … I don’t really think I would love to live that life style, especially going back in time! π I like my creature comforts.
Good luck with the contest!

If I could travel in time I would go back and finish high school (instead of getting my GED) and go out with the boys I was too shy to say yes to and go to my senior prom and keep in contact with the many friends I lost touch with.

Hi Cheryl,
Yeah, the lack of hygiene, the horse poo in the streets, etc. would defintely make things much less romantic. lol. Cheryl, do you have a few friends you can tell about the contest? If so, I’ll get you entered. Just tell me about it here.
Katy–you know, I wonder if high school isn’t the most common thing we all might say we could go back and alter some. Thanks for your entry, Katy!
April 26th, 2009 at 8:12 pm · Link
It seemed safest to say high school, lol. I try not to have regrets, but that’s when most of mine are.
As for traveling to another time period, history was really unfair to women and I wouldn’t feel safe going there in actuality; and the future seems just as unsafe what with global warming and populations booming. So, that’s why I chose a time in my lifetime π

Hi, Beth!
I posted your contest, Daring Time, on my blog at AuthorBlogSpot.blogspot.com. You have a great site!
If I could time travel, I’d like to go to 1800 Ireland to meet my great grandparents and see what brought them to America, or visit early 1900 Puerto Rico, to meet my grandparents on my father’s side.

Hi Ester,
I saw your post, and thanks for entering the contest, Ester.
That’s a great time travel answer. To see our ancestors would be so amazing. I often wonder the same thing–what circumstances made them leave the homeland? Did they regret it? Was it hard for them? There was such an ethic back then of doing things for the sake of future generations.
Well, that’s us. It would certainly be something to be able to see and thank them in some way.
