2. To enter, copy the code (click on ‘share’) of the graphic above and post it to your blog, Facebook, Myspace, Website, whereever you want to share it. Add a link to my blog from your blog, Facebook, Myspace, wherever you put the graphic, and say “Click here to enter the DARING TIME CONTEST.

You may use a smaller version of the graphic, if you prefer, for one of your sidebars. Just change the height and width in the code to “180” by “150”. (Thanks Ann Aguirre, I learned that from one of your past contests.)

3. Come back here and reply to this post with a link to your blog entry or wherever you’ve posted the graphic and your answer to the following question: If you could time travel anywhere, to the future or the past, where/when would you go and why?

4. If you don’t have a blog, or if you are having difficulty posting, you can still enter the contest. Here’s what you can do: Blog about the DARING TIME contest on your Facebook, Myspace page or post about it in a yahoo group. Just leave a comment about where you posted it and provide a link. No Facebook, Myspace or group? Then get creative. Share the contest with two friends, and leave a comment about who you told. Tell your book club about the book and the contest. This will have to be on the honor system. The whole point of the contest is to spread the word about DARING TIME, so if you can convince me in some way that you did that, you’re in! Don’t forget, no matter how you spread the word, be sure to leave a comment with links and information, and answer the “˜where/when would you time travel to?’ question. If you have not entered correctly, you will not be in the final drawing, so please follow the instructions.

5. The Grand Prize and Second Place Prize will be given away on May 8th. Everyone who enters the contest correctly will be in the running for the two prize packs listed in the graphic. Authors are eligible to win as well!

    Hey Beth:

Awesome kick off post for your contest.

I posted the widget with an anouncement here: http://lea-closetwriter.blogspot.com/2009/04/heads-up-daring-time-contest-at-beth.html

Lets see, I think I would time travel back about 35 years into the past and start my career over. But, the hitch is I would have to become 35 years younger during the time travel, and know what I know now. lololololol

Not too much to ask right?

    Warm regards
    L

Awesome, Lea, thank you! I went and looked…very pretty. πŸ™‚ Please feel free to make it smaller if you like, for your sidebars. I probably should put that in the rules.

I like your idea! That’s why I liked the movie Peggy Sue Got Married, because she looks like an 18 year old, but she’s got all the wisdom of a woman. I think that’s such an awesome concept.

You’ll have to share sometime what direction you wanted to take with your career…. πŸ˜€

I would definitely time travel to the past to 1988. I had been married for 9 years and all 3 of my children were already born (don’t want to do that again LOL). The only catch would be that I have the knowledge that I have now. There is so much that I could do to help enrich my children’s lives and the lives of others both monetary and physically.

I would also be able to help avert many of the tragedies that have occurred in the 2000’s. The Oklahoma City Bombings, 9-11 and Katrina could have been avoided with advance knowledge and/or planning for the unthinkable and I would love to have helped in any way I was able to avert these tragedies. My heart bled as the above and many other horrific things happened in the past 21 years.

Sorry to carry on but they are very sensitive issues for me. I would want to help save more people if it was at all possiable.

    April 4th, 2009 at 9:04 pm · Link

You’re not ‘carrying on’ at all, Gayle. It’s wonderful that you’d have the goal of alleviating suffering for so many. Funny you mentioned it, because I’ve done a proposal for a follow up to Daring Time, called Making Time, which involves the hero trying to avert a huge tragedy that occurred in Chicago in 1915–The Eastland Disaster. So part of me must share your fantasy.

    Thanks for entering the contest!

    Hi Beth!!!

I blogged about this amazing contest at my blog (thanks goes to Lea for sharing about it first!!)…..http://nosuchthingas2manybooks.blogspot.com/2009/04/beth-kerydaring-time-contest.html

As soon as I figure out how to resize it I’ll add it to my sidebar (I’m not so smart when it comes to computers but I’ll get it figured out!)!

Time Travel…….I love time travel books and wish more of them would be written! If I had to pick a time or where……I think my first choice would be the Wild West……there is something about a very sexy cowboy! I also love highlander time travel books so that might be a fun time to travel back to!!

If I could time travel either to the future or past, I use to think I would want to back to the Wild West with cowboys & indians. But I like modern conviences to much. So I think I would want to go to the future like in J.D. Robbs books. Where things are automated, diseases whiped out. However I would need to have real coffee.

I’ve posted the ‘Daring Time’ contest widget to my sidebar here: http://lovinmesomeromance.blogspot.com/

Given the chance to travel either to the future or past, I’d choose neither and stay in the present. The only reason, I think, to go into the past would be to change something but everything has led me here and I couldn’t be happier. I have no desire to see the future. I don’t want to know what lies ahead.

Hi Beth, I posted your widget on my side bar HERE.

I am really looking forward to reading Daring Time. Lea reviewed it awhile ago and I’ve been looking forward to it since.

Hmm, I always say I’d like to travel back to Medieval Scotland. Back to the times when the old castle ruins were in their glory and the kilted warriors roamed the land. But of course it was awfully dirty back then, so I would definitely need a supply of soap and other bathroom necessities to tote along with me :).

and one more thing, my mom and I are going to Lori Foster’s get together this year and I am really looking forward to meeting you!

I am still crossing my fingers hoping I did that right. I posted it in my sideabar!

Time Travel… well, I do agree with a lot of people here… going back, bringing the knowledge you know now with you and alevating things that happened in the past that would account for so much life lost. But if I were to go back… I think I would actually want to go back to the day it all started and have a talk with God. To be able to see my creator and share a moment of time with him. That would be awesome and not to mention I would want to walk in the Garden of Eden… find Adam and Eve and slap her for taking the damn apple and eating it.

Thanks for the contest and thanks to Lea for the heads up and pimpin the book!!! It is now on TBB list (if I don’t win)!
