Howdy all! Just a quick check-in. Thanks to everyone who participated in the Top 10 Movie Contest. It was a huge success in many ways, one of which–I got to remember some great movies thanks to you and expand my list of ‘must sees.’ People were coming up with such awesome lists. I had a great time.
I’ve been enjoying this hot, hot summer, doing a lot of writing and almost done with my first Harbor Town book. :) I saw both Despicable Me and The Sorcerer’s Apprentice last week. I loved Despicable Me (I’d give it 3.25 stars) and thought Sorcerer was good for a summer movie, although I’d probably recommend seeing it on video. I just have a thing for Nick Cage. I also saw Sherlock Holmes last night. I really liked it. Jude Law in a bowler was a lot hotter than I thought I’d be. Robert Downey is a great actor, and I do like him a lot, but he didn’t really work as Sherlock for me. He worked as a great leading character, but I never really bought him as being super intelligent. However, I give this one 3.25 for style alone. Great movie.
Let’s see, what else…oh, RWA in Orlando is coming up. I’m very excited. I need to get my schedule straight once and for all, though. Lots of parties to go to here. Can’t wait for some of the educational presentations.
I hope you all are enjoying your summer to its fullest!

We just saw Despicable Me with our kids–they LOVED it! They’re going around reciting lines from the movie all the time :) We liked it a lot, too–it was very nicely done. We also saw Toy Story 3, and that was beautifully done with a big hit of nostalgia for people who’ve seen all three :)
