No idea where that title came from, except that I WAS watching a John Travolta bio last night where they played Olivia Newton John and him singing the Grease version of said title. :)
The Lori Foster event was great–relaxed, laid back and fun. I had breakfast with my agent and fellow Bradford Bunch chicks, Beth Williamson and Jess Granger. One night I had dinner with Mary G, who took all the way from Canada to attend! It was so great to meet her in person, and I’m so, so grateful she came. Another night I had dinner with Lexington Book Club Group–Amelia, Dawn, Mahlet and Beverly plus friend Sabra and Mary G, which was tons of fun. We talked how men think vs. women, among many other things, and had a ball. For the book signing, I sat at a table with authors Beth Williamson, Shiloh Walker and HelenKay Dimon. It was my first time meeting HelenKay, and she seemed like a smart cookie, in addition to being very warm. I was so lucky to win one, but TWO Becke Martin Davis gift baskets, and I’m here to tell you, they were STUFFED with good stuff. I’m still jealous of Shiloh Walker for winning the Circle of Seven book video, but thanks to Becke’s baskets, I was a happy romance writer. :)
Yesterday, I finished my novella for the Berkley anthology with Emma Holly, Lauren Dane and Megan Hart. We also got word yesterday that the anthology comes out in May 2011 and has the theme, Three to Tengo!
Now, it’s time to focus on that Harbor Town series for Silhouette Special Edition. Yay!
Well, that’s it for now. Off to have coffee with Julie James and talk publishing and authoring.
Talk to you soon!
~Beth

Enjoy your outing with Julie, Beth. Glad you had such a wonderful time at the Lori Foster Event. Certainly from Mary’s account it sounded awesome. Enjoy your winnings.. ;)
How cool is that.
And, LOL re Shiloh’s comment..

You are too kind Beth. It was a dream come true to meet you. I enjoyed your company so much. I had a fabulous time sitting with Beth squared, Shiloh & HelenKay at the signing. Thank God Shiloh won something because it’s “just not natural” otherwise LOL.
Congrats on finishing the novella & I hope you enjoy your time with Julie.

My day will come for that book video…my day will come.

@Lea
Thanks, Lea. We will get you there soon. There or somewhere!
@Mary
LOL, about Beth squared. Makes me smile. It helped that we showed up in similar outfits that day, completely unintentionally of course! Beth W is a very nice lady, although I think I freaked her out by telling her how much I like the Andy Griffith show. LOL. Andy Griffith and Mayberry=the opposite of my complicated world.

Hi other Beth! I was totally not freaked out by your obsession with Andy Griffith. I totally get it girl.
And yeah it was great fun to be Beth squared. I was glad to get to hang out and chill with ya.
If you want to come down and see that Andy Griffith statue, just let me know.

It was so nice meeting you. I’ll even forgive you for winning two raffle baskets when I didn’t win one. Yeah, still bitter.

It was great to see you, Beth! I added another of your books to my collection while I was there – looking forward to reading it! I’m so glad you liked the baskets (totes) you won — I have so much fun filling those.

@Fedora–hey there, lady! it was fun. Are you attending RT in LA?
@HelenKay–it was a pleasure meeting you! At least I didn’t say neeer neeeer neeer like Shiloh when she won!
@Becke Martin Davis–are you going to RWA? Maybe we can have lunch?

I had planned to go to National, but my niece decided to get married that week! I’ll be at the Central Ohio conference in October if you’re going to that one.

I also won two baskets! Almost everyone in our Lexington Book Club won something! I think this year was the most fun for me meeting Mary G and being there with the book club.
