Thanks for visiting. I just recently discovered Samhain publishing within this last year from visiting book blogs. I think that ebook publishers are really pushing the boundaries with the books they release and am so glad that I am able to find books that suit all tastes, including GLBT. Glad that it is finally trickling down to the major publishers!

Great interview, and I wish you much success in your new position at Samhain.

I enjoy the variety Samhain offers and have found their quality to be much more reliable than other epublishers I’ve tried.

Laurie, I love that you said you would like to see a resurgence of romantic comedy. My favorite authors in most genre are those who excel at including humor in their books in a way that fits the story and helps drive it forward. I equate it to a good musical, where the singing and dancing actually advance the plot rather than just interrupting it for a pleasant interlude.

I love smart, fast, funny dialogue reminiscent of old movies like The Philadelphia Story. But for me, the best humor goes beyond one-liners and creates funny situations that build until you’re laughing out loud at the least provocation. Books with that quality cleanse my emotional palate and make me feel lighter.

Throw in a good romance with some excellent erotic scenes and I’ve got my favorite things all in one place. Examples? Biting Nixie and The Ghost Shrink, the
Accidental Gigolo and the Poltergeist Accountant.

Erotic romantic comedy — go for it!
