Beth, I love these historical movies!
Often they either have no closed captioned for the deaf or they do. Sometimes the ‘CC’ box is on it but sometimes not, so always have to check if it has the closed captions or English subtitles. Do you know if they do? I sometimes check to see if I can find in library so that I don’t end up buying them and not being able to watch! But NORTH & SOUTH was one I do want to see and thanks for the other recommendations too!

Stacy pointed out your post here to me. Wasn’t North and South fabulous?? As she mentioned, I have this whole ‘Crusade’ going and guess what? You are now a fellow Crusader

Beth, about 1 1/2 years ago, blogger KristieJ did a North & South crusade, which I quite happily joined, I might add. I just adored it.

I did add DD to my Netflix Q a few months ago, just haven’t gotten to it yet.

Thanks! I do love the BBC. They always do a quality job on their adaptations.

If you can find Daniel D., I definitely recommend it. I got mine in a George Elliot pack. I don’t know how easy it is to find individually, but I do know it’s on Amazon.

Good Morning Beth:

Excellent post. I’ve always found the BBC to produce superior series, movies etc. and it would certainly seem the two you reviewed are no exception.

I’ve heard wonderful things about North and South, but haven’t as yet sat down to watch it. The second, I’ve never heard of but given your analogy with respect to Scarlet O’Hara it is a movie will watch soon!
